Razor information?
Hello good people of the Straightrazorplace, I would like any information regarding a razor i'm having fully restored by Neil Miller, hopefully ready in a few weeks, The razor is a Iron Duke German razor, I cannot find much information regarding this razor and would be more than greatful for any info, spec's and history regading this razor, I have several other razors which I also intend having restored including, Crown & sword German, a Taylors witness 1000 Shefield razor, and a Kropp Sheffield razor, I will post some photo's and hope you can fill in the historical blanks and spec's for me, when the Iron Duke returns from restoration I will post some photo's. PS, i'm a DE shaver and just started as a straight razor collector, have been a custom knife collector for many years, anyway I will include my DE shaving setup at the bottom of the page, i'm also a keen photographer.
Regards

To each is own Brother, I like Straight razors, but the Feather AS-D1 for engineering build quality and performance is simple up there with the best, i'm no expert on straight razors, but if one could even match that razor for delivering a close shave I personally would give it 10 out of 10.
I will one day give a straight shave a go, and I will judge it against the Feather AS-D1 and then I will pass judgement until that day I will reserve my personal judgement. Let he who hath not shaved with the Feather AS-D1 cast the first pass Amen!

Very nice razors Jaime, even the Feather
they should all shave like a dream once they are honed up. Sorry I don't have much info on any of them but I haven't seem a German or Sheffield steel that didn't shave well. Good luck on your shaving journey.

Thanked: 1936Neil is a great guy and will restore your razor as well as it can be.
As far as the "contraption", you are right in regards to "each their own". If you learn to shave with a straight, it will see little use if you enjoy a great and smooth shave.Southeastern Oklahoma/Northeastern Texas helper. Please don't hesitate to contact me.

Well my response to you would be unless you own picked up and shaved with a Feather AS-D! I wouldn't be so quick to pass judgement by calling it a contraption, it's rather rude and very un Christian of you, and i'm sure i'm big enough and old enough to forgive you this time.
Regards

Thanked: 1936Dude, I'm just poking fun at you, relax. I'm quite comfortable with my Christianity, so there isn't much that will effect me there. I may be rude though, everyone has an opinion...welcome to STRAIGHT RAZOR Place.
