Help about razor facts.
Hello,
First post here and I'm looking for help. I just got two new-to-me razors and I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out if I've got some gems on my hands.
-first razor-
An old (60-70's) boker edelweiss (bone scales)
-second razor-
dubl duck dwarf
Please give me your opinions on if they are good and if so which out of the two would be better. I'm sure the person who gave me these free razors will be thrilled to know of their quality.

Good luck with your info search! I'm finding that razor history is both fascinating and very difficult due to the vagueries of production runs, family history and particulary the lack of markings on the razors themselves.

You won't want that dubl duck. Your best bet is to just let me take it off your hands so you don't sully your fine face with it...
Seriously though, those will both treat you well. Get 'em honed up by someone who knows what they're doing and your face will be happy.Havachat45 likes this.

Welcome to SRP. If you have the time and the inclination post a photo of the razors with the blades showing. We can let you know if the condition warrants the expense of having them honed to shave ready and for any other restoration you might want to invest in. Those are top notch razors. Check out the SRP Wiki beginner's guide if you intend to get into shaving with them.

For me, cost and brand name have very little to do with how I value a razor.
I have a cheap Kraut & Dohnal KD 325 with warped scales and stains, which is probably worth 30 bucks, but I love the thing. Ultimately, it comes down to how it performs.

They're both good names but it really depends on condition. IME, I have yet to encounter a Solingen blade in a good state that wasn't, at least, a good shaver. Pictures would be useful.

As everyone else mentioned...they are great blades. Hopefully, you got them in good shape. Polish em up and get em honed. It's fun.

Welcome to SRP!! Great bunch of guys here, and be sure to stay in touch. You will have lots of questions, and this is the place to get answers. Both razors are gems if in good condition.
