My earlobes vote for round points, although they will abide a square or spike if it is slightly muted.
French or spainish, handy for getting into tight spaces around ears and nose.
Anything other than a round point, I don't care for the look. Otherwise they all really work...
I really like razors with a barbers notch, just for the look.
Spike with very little mute. However, that is what I started with over 40 years ago. All of the different points work well, so it comes down to personal choice. Good Luck, wildhog
I definitely prefer Oblique or Spanish points.
That said, they all work:)
I have no preference as long as the razor has a good edge and is not too small for my hands.
I have them all and I like my Spanish point on the Wacker the best...It has the best of all worlds. Flexibility to get in tight corners without knicking a major artery...When I use my spikes I have to make sure my "I've fallen and can't get up" button is nearby.....I almost flat lined last time I shaved with my Red Imp...
I'm really liking the inclined nose these days. A bit less curved than a French nose but a similar look. Then again, I'm trying to collect them all :)
Thanks shooter, its a French Thiers-Issard 7/8ths thick grind from rasurpur.
Absolutely. They can hold their own against the big ticket razors. I slightly muted the point on both my Imps. The worse cuts I have gotten were from my Red Imp 132 during my very first straight razor shave. A two inch vertical slash just in front of each ear. LOTS OF BLOOD!
But I did learn to always know where the spike is from that point on. It is a lesson you don't want to repeat.
