That is a beautiful razor.

Well I'd like to tell you all I was successful with my Dovo today, but I wasn't. Well not quite I was mildly successful. As suggested by shooter I gave it 6 passes on the 8000grit then over to the strop for 40 on the linen and 40 on the leather. Much less tugging this time, but far from a the smooth shaves I get from my other razors. So much so that I had to turn to the Mach3 collecting dust in the corner to finish off. Oh well, some times you win, some times its time for a beer. I'll try the same method tomorrow and see how that goes.

Sounds like you are on the right path. Everyone has their own amount of stropping, but mine is 20x when I put a razor up and 50-60 before the shave...this equals 70-80x...you might strop a bit more on the leather after you give it another pass at the stone.
