I just saw a Henckels Friodur Inox in an antique shop. It was a good-sized razor, 6/8, maybe even 7/8, full-hollow but with real weight. "Inox" = "very shiny", good eye-candy.

But . . .

Instead of the constant-width blades I'm used to seeing, this one was broader at the toe than at the heel, by maybe 1/8". And there's a fair bit of "smile" at both the toe and heel. So I'm wondering:

. . . Did someone grind out a chip at the heel, and adjust the blade shape for 'smoothness' ?

. . . Or did Henckel grind some razors with moderate smile, and broader toe / narrower heel ?

Thanks --

Charles

PS - next time I'll get the number off the blade -- sorry!
