Then you are a successful shaver! Enjoy!
Speed, or rather longer more fluid strokes will come in time, the beauty of this art is that it is not a race, should it become a race it would no longer be an art.

Thank you. I have said this many times in this forum, straight razor shaving for me has taken a mundane chore and turned into an enjoyable ritual for me that I look forward to each morning. I will say this, I am pretty consistent in my shaving because I finish about the same time each morning - I must be doing something right!! ;-)
Keep in mind that Chimensch has been SR shaving for 30 years, culminating with this video which was made a year ago or so. The way he shaves obviously has worked for him for some time, and only highlights the need for each of us to develop our own style (based on comfort) as opposed to simply mimicking an internet video. It's too bad Chimensch doesn't frequent SRP anymore, I always enjoyed his posts. His opinions seemed to go against mainstream ideas....
BTW -his razor(s) is indeed a Thiers Issard. Scales are classic TI.
We're so lucky to have video. Watching something like this 25-40 yrs ago would have been almost impossible. Great pleasure though observing Chimensch work. Kudos to Chimensch--and to this site.
