Default Some razors at the local antique shop today.

I went shopping today, and took some photos at what they had the the local antique shop, the prices seemed a little high for this area. I am sure they are in line with ebay. but not around here local. I didn't buy any of them. nothing really stood out. what do you think?

I'd say you've done well, a fist full of work ahead but the finished rewards will be awesome, well done.

I didn't buy any of them. These were the best looking of the bunch. I thought about it but we have a bunch of antique store in this part of Oklahoma, my sister owning one of them. The prices at this store seemed a bit higher than others. I wasn't sure if I should have picked up any of them.

I'd buy the first and the third and send them to someone who knows how to refurbish them. From what I've seen here it's amazing what can be done...

Yeah I liked that one. It was the cleanest, and I really like the little end pieces. Whatever they are called. I was not sure what material it was made of. I had me 30x loupe with me. And it looked like old (plastic) but the lines in it had me wondering. After examine and feeling it I was still not 100% sure what it was made of. But i was about 80% sure it was plasticish.

I have a question.... Is it ok to post photos like this from the antique stores I visit? I wasn't sure if people would want to see them..

You are kidding, of course. We love all razor porn AND it is a great education for we Newbies to learn the good from the bad from the poster's comments and evaluations.

    Keep on posting.

You're right, I'm not sure where you are but the prices did seem a little steep. My method is start the haggling somewhere around half price and be prepared to give some back but only what is required to do the deal. Most antique stores will come down 15-20% without much haggling anyway. So in your case, I'd offer $25 for BOTH of the last two razors. I'd be prepared to go up to $30 without much of a fight but I doubt I'd entertain anything over about $40 TOTAL for BOTH razors.
The older I get, the better I was
