Yes I have a frameback. It's a 4/8s but it's a super shaver and the Ivory Scales are a big plus.
From everything I've researched, the Swedish Heljestrand steel is superb. The father & sons won numerous awards in Europe for their steel-related discoveries, and specialized in surgical (& shaving) instruments. That aside, the razors have a very modern look. Rather cool.
Congratulations. A beautiful looking razor. I have a No. 6 and a MK24, both of them exceptionally fine razors. It is hard to beat a good Heljestrand!

Congrats on acquiring a great looker and fine shaver! :tu :tu I really like the thumb notch looks on there razors even though they add a twist to honing and stropping. Once properly honed you will be pleased.
What kind of ivory would that be? Elephant? I'm asking because I want to get a visual so when I am at the antique shops I will know what I am looking at..
Most likely, but you can't tell from these pictures. The difference between elephant and mammoth is in the crossection - the average angle of the intersection of the Schreger lines. Virtually all vintage ivory scales are elephant, though - just the simple workings of demand & supply and lowest costs.Quote:
