This NOS NY Thistle Cutlery Co. was waiting for me in the mailbox tonight after work..
A full 7/8 of "Can't see a hone mark" of beautiful American steel. The entire razor looks to have never been used just a bit of MAAS and tapitytap on the pin and she is ready for the Shaptons...
When I saw it on e-bay I figured at least a 6/8 and was hoping for a 7/8 I honestly can't wait to shave this one tomorrow.. I saw one that JoeD found a while back and was rather jealous :) and I have restored maybe 1 or 2 more of these larger sized (6/8+) American blades, but they are rather rare to see...

That's a pretty nice razor. I'd love to have one waiting in my mailbox. You have to love the big blades.

We only want to verify that last 1/8". We're concerned about measurement methodology, instrument verification, possible vision aberrations, etc. Send it to the upstate NY razor center, JoeD and I will verify this specimen using his as a comparison. This may take some time, you understand, but I'm sure you see the necessity.

I really love that style scales. I have 2 razors with them. The Wolfritz, and my Thistle. Both are 6/8 and not as "sharp" as yours. But I will try to get the edge up to snuff. maybe I just didnt have the skills yet when last I tried.http://www.magpiemead.com/ebay/Thistle.jpg
