Thanked: 3If money was available...Which custom razor
If you could choose only 1 and had the money to do it. Who would you go to for a custom Razor?
Tim Zowada or Robert Williams?
Now, I'm not sayin' I got the money or anything - but was just a thought that crossed my mind. Just curious what the comments would be...

Thanked: 30Honestly, I don't see the need for the "flashy" razors I've seen online. They're beautiful and amazing and all that, but I prefer something a little more "workman" than a fancy looking razor. If I could design my own razor, it would have some simple but tasteful engraving on the blade, with simple wood scales and modest embellishments in the wood. That's it. I really want a Boker Edelweiss razor because to me it's just right in that regard. The gold-wash razors look great but I'd be afraid to shave with them. I appreciate the aesthetic qualities of wear and tear, and that concept doesn't meld well with custom razors.

Sure it does. Custom means you specify how you want it, right? Just tell the maker you want aesthetic qualities of wear and tear. In fact, I could probably handle that myself even though I have never made a razor and it is probably against site rules for me to advertise here, but if you want me to put together a beat-up razor just for you, shoot me a PM and we'll work something out

I wouldn't be able to tell you which one of those two to get.
I have a couple from both of those makers and can tell from experience that those two makers makes some of the very finest razors available.
Vintage, new, customs, restores or whatever else you wanna compare these two with, they are IMHO at the pinnacle of both quality and shave-ability.Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....
