Guy took a W&B barbers use 8/8 to antiques roadshow. They put him with the razor expert and he told him that he had it sanded, buffed, polished and rescaled in horn. The appraiser said it was worth $125 ...... but if it had the original scales and patina it would be worth $20,000 :rofl2:
EDIT ; not really but stuff like that happens on there all the time ..... doesn't it ? :p

Really nice! I hope you can preserve the etching.
Could your razor be made from the legendary "wootz" steel by any chance?

Thanks all. I don't plan on sanding this thing into oblivion. Going to try the steel wool and go from there. I just want to make sure that I get all the rust. Pitting and patina I can live with. The scales need little except for some neatsfoot oil. I'll put some pics up when I'm done. I think it will also go up for sale, and thanks to JimmyHad the starting price is a steal at 15k. :)
Thanks
Bruce
