    Default Lockwood Bros Pampa

    Hi,
I just won a Lockwood Brothers Pampa razor on ebay. The seller estimates the year of manufacture as circa 1890 and in the pictures I can just make out the words Hollow Ground on the blade. The razor itself looks to be in very good condition, but I was wondering if anyone here had anymore information on the manufacturers or this particular model of razor.
    Regards,
    Alex

Here's a picture of the razor. Any thoughts or opinions on it?

    I've got the same info.

    C&X Lockwood Bros. Sheffield.
    1849-present
Part of Joseph Elliott and sonzs in 1953.
    Also made Bowie Knives.

While the company started in 1800's, I certainly wouldn't date the razor to that time. I would say a bit later than that. I saw one similar. Very nice look to the blade.

If I had to guess, I would say the turn of the century for a manufacturing date. It was about that time, I believe, that the shoulderless grind was replaced by the single and double shoulder grinds that we see on most razors these days.

I am a huge fan of the shoulderless blades. If you decide you don't want it, let me know.
