I've bought a Master razor off ebay. It is NIB.
I bought it without really knowing anything about it :o

I was thinking of sending it to one of the honemeisters to get it shave ready, but if its made from poor steel, I wont bother!
I hate to tell you this, but these razors are definitely junk. I send them back whenever someone sends me one for honing.

It is VERY use-able...just not for shaving.
Those scales would look great on another razor, and that blade could be used as a tool (i.e. opening letters, scraping tape/paint off windows, etc...), or to test out how a blade would react if honed or worked on a certain way (if you are not sure how a certain grit sand paper would work, try it on that blade first!).
While perhaps not a great shaver, I think it would make a great test subject!
Wouldn't be great if these companies that are kicking out these 'look alike' razors, would just concentrate on selling the scales, which HAVE gotten better with time! it's just that they do not want to spend the time and money producing quality steel. Fine, then sell us the scales for $5 a set!

Now you have this razor, you should keep it in your collection to pad it out. Then when you want to buy something expensive in future like a Maestro you just take this one out of the box and replace it with the new razor. That way the razor count doesn't appear to increase and you avoid the wrath of the angry partner. :D

I'm a mix of high and low tech... Got all of the entertainment goodies, a cell that also plays mp3s and my computer is my second home. At the same time, I drive stick, shave with a straight and I do all of my BBQing on actual wood.
I prefer a stick, but the SO doesn't know how to drive one. As far as BBQ over wood: is there any other way? Am I missing something here? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate technology, but only if it is truly a better way.
Well charcoal ain't bad either, then there's propane and it goes all the way down to the George Forman grill lol. I'm fortunate that I live in the burbs so I don't have to deal with rush hour traffic. If I had to do a 2hr each way stop and go commute, I'd go automatic. Your SO can also learn as it's not that difficult. I taught 4 of my female friends and one male buddy to drive stick without any difficulties even though he was the king of car accidents.
I enjoy bowhunting with a recurve bow with no wheels, no sights, no cables and no mechanical releases. I like gathering my own wild mushrooms and enjoy old world craftsmanship. :)

Actually I like the old ways myself too. On a side note, I walked into best Buys on Sunday and didn't even recognize what half the new fangled electronic stuff was.

My beef with automatic trannies is that they are a way to separate the driver from the car and the driving experience. Even though they have new technologies that are better and more efficient performers than stick, like DSG and CVT (well CVT is decades old, just never been popular), I still like the greater level of control I exercise over the car with the inclusion of the clutch pedal.
Junk to the max. I bought one (thought it was a great deal) and it was. For the seller not me. Never again. You know how it goes... Fool me once....
