They are great shaver! m&s were at the pond works 1827-1852 and the shape puts this blade in the 1840-1852 range.
here is the club for them http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...-environs.html
here is info from the wiki Marsh Brothers & Co - Straight Razor Place Wiki
Very nice razor. When I go hunting straights I am very happy when I come across a Marsh and Shepherd. They are good shavers.
I have one similar - narrower at the toe - a very attractive shape IMO, shame it never took off. Enjoy!
I like the shape of these razors, I have been hoping to find another one...No luck.
Sure is - this one goes from 5/8 to 7/8.

The shape is factory. The entire blade is tapered because the spine is ground towards the toe. Also the etching 'An Excellent Razor' follows the spine contour.
It is a work of art, IMO, and I can't stop fawning over it!
