They are great shaver! m&s were at the pond works 1827-1852 and the shape puts this blade in the 1840-1852 range.

here is the club for them http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...-environs.html

here is info from the wiki Marsh Brothers & Co - Straight Razor Place Wiki

Very nice razor. When I go hunting straights I am very happy when I come across a Marsh and Shepherd. They are good shavers.

I have one similar - narrower at the toe - a very attractive shape IMO, shame it never took off. Enjoy!

I guess what i'm saying is...i've seen a few W&B and Wostenholm's and other large blades that have that shape...i just figured they were honed to that point vs. being factory ground like that. You're saying they come from the factory with that shape?

The shape is factory. The entire blade is tapered because the spine is ground towards the toe. Also the etching 'An Excellent Razor' follows the spine contour.
It is a work of art, IMO, and I can't stop fawning over it!
