Hey Cove,
Would you mind posting a pic of the W&B Maxi restored for you from the last meet?
That razor is what made me think this is a w&b in the first place, I think it has a really similar profile...

I'd bet that when you get it "in hand" you will be able to find a faint W&B etch. It's probably crudded up to where the seller didn't or couldn't see it. One of my W&B's has a very faint etch whilst the other has a real stamp.
wimpy W&B etch

Poor picture, but after a little autosol still no mark ... Still real happy with it!
I'd be tempted to agree with everyone about it being a butcher, as I've not really seen many other makers that made blades as wide as wade n butcher (it's not to say people didn't mind you).
I might be seeing things but I'm sure that second pic u posted has the faintest of marks or patina in what is left of a mark, is there is any chance you can get a closer detailed shot of the neck ?
The grind and pinning sure look the same.
Ok you got me seeing things now, im pretty sure I can make out a bunch of letters. maybe a blacklight would help? Im going to need some magnification aswell
Great idea but it didnt work . I was sure it would!
eh nothing lost...
