Thanked: 0Razor I.D help for a Newb
I picked this up a while back partly because this razor seems to be really old. I have done some research and all I can come up with is a company called George Wostenholm, also made razors in sheffield england. This razor says M. GEORGE & SON SHEFFIELD ENGLAND on the tang and the scales seem to be made of bone. The blade is a wedge as well. Any info is greatly appreciated!

All I can say for certain is that it is not a Wostenholm and yes, the scales appear to be bone. Since it has England on the tang, it was probably made after 1891.It fits the mold of many standard near-wedges from that period and it seems, by the picture, to have light wear on it. Perhaps someone will come along with info on M. George and Son. Probably would be a good shaver after honing (shudder!). Those can be a bear to get going! Enjoy!
