the quarter hollow grind

We have fan clubs for full hollows and wedges, sheffields and swedes, but I never hear any commotion about the near-wedge or quarter hollow grind. As a sheffield wedge lover, the weight of the quarter hollow and near wedge satisfies the heft test, while the slightly hollow grind makes for a simple, easy honing, and a great shave. Any other quarter hollow or near-wedge fans out there?

Great idea for a thread, maybe worth adding to the Razor Club section?
Also would be great to see the point or front-on photos as well to show the grind itself...they all look very similar from a side-on profile.
Will get around to adding something here myself.

My preferences seem to have settled into a long term love affair w/ the heavy grinds and the extra hollows. Sadly, I'm unable to make peace w/ the Sheffields, but LOVE the 1/4 grinds & near wedges. Note: I wish I liked sheffields - they're quality made and usually very handsome. The feedback of the heavier grinds seems unusually important for me. If the blade is silent - I pass it on. This includes popular big names like a Satinwedge. If a heavy grind has feedback, it has a loving home for a long time. Their tolerance for less than perfect technique makes them so friendly and effective. If you ever get to try a Williams heavy grind - they're gonna be pretty different from most. It may take some time to get the edge right, but the feel & the shave is incredible. The Wacker heavies are another favorite (4 have a permanent place in my rotation). Swedish heavies of any brand have my attention. Wish there were more of them around. I suspect there would be many more fans of the heavier grinds once guys try them. Note to owners: consider letting newer guys try your heavy grinds. You already know how hard they are to find, and no manufacturer is going to produce them unless they are more in demand. The only new ones available are very costly custom or semi-custom.

The more noise the better for me also,love the feedback of giant full,bellied hollows.
My faves sound like an accordian rendition of the flight of the bumblebee

Good call bonitomio. Here's that same razor from the front to view the grind (fun fact about this one - the first I've ever lined in bone. ivory and brass wedge)

ace maybe your beard is quite "feline" in nature.............very fussy in what it prefers
