Hello, I bought an CARL WUSTHOFF GLADIATORWERK Solingen Razor on Ebay, and I don't find any info about. Is this an Wusthoff razor? Is a 6/8 ,
extra hollow, take an very sharp and smoth edge, the blade is like a paper, very very thin. Thank you.

I like Wusthoff razors as well :)
This one looks to be a travel razor that is incomplete. The plastic upper part of the case would slide over the razor with the scales forming the base of the case.
Looks to be in perfect condition otherwise :tu
I think Carl was the father or a relative of Ed. (Eduard) Wusthoff which company is still going strong today in Solingen Germany.
Thank you. I will shave with and post the facts. I have two Ed Wusthoff in my rotation, excellent shavers, keep the edge very long time.
Well losing that auction to a member takes out the sting. Looked really nice in pictures hope it shaves as good as it looks.:gl:
Good idea, but, most likely, it's wrong.:)Quote:

Carl Wüsthof KG, Gladiator-Stahlwarenfabrik was founded in 1895 and registered 8th August 1930.

Eduard Wüsthof was founded in 1814.
All this time, they were different companies ...and they both are in business till now ...and they are different companies.
Wüsthof Gladiator - Schneidwaren
Wusthof - Home
Thank you, the steel is look like other Solingen steels, I hope is a good razor.

Yep, I was gonna try for that one, but I didn't know about the Carl versu Ed thing... I have an Ed. I thought the Carl was a knock off.. Apparrentlly not... Good catch.
Attachment 99781 I believe that this is the one that's being discussed. Was just on eBay. Auction is ended.
They are diferent razors. My razor is missing the cover, is just the razor.
I shave with this razor this morning, real singing blade, you almost can count the wiskers when you cut them. I finish it on thuringian, and the shave was very smooth, even ATG. Even now , after more than 12 Hrs , the face is very clean, wich is unusual for me . I get a grow back in 8-9 hrs, no matter what.
I can compare the shaving of this blade with the shave of the feather blades, after 2-3 shaves.Very sharp but smoot and precise. I will post more toughts , after one month , I will shave with this razor every 3 days, to see how the edge is resist. BTW I have a very wire like beard. I am sure it will be like any Wosthoff razor.
Thanks for your review livio.
Great news that your razor´s performance is so good.
I didn´t know they they also made singing razors so I will keep my eye out for one of those :tu:
After couple months, the razor still perform , I did a touch up, and is back in rotation. If you can find one , get it.Very fine steel, can take a edge like the best razors. Somehow I compare this razor with a MK 32 steel, just finer grind.
