Short of paying for a custom....
I have an idea for a razor that I want & was wondering if anyone might know a maker who has a similar product because if it means paying who knows how much for a custom razor I'm not prepared for that.
What I'd like to have is a French tip, not quite the spike fan you see, 6/8 or larger, near or full wedge. A curved spine & edge would also be nice.
Are there any makers out there you guys know of that offer something like this without going the custom route? The only french tips I've seen at all are from TI & I was hoping for a slightly larger selection.
I have a feeling I may be stuck browsing through older razors to find what I'm looking for.

Thanked: 88Do you not like the spike point aesthetically, or do you find them too touchy? I ask because I'm trying to determine if what you mean is aactially a French point or a full round nose.

Thanked: 1587You probably are going to have to browse the older blades I think. Happily, the razor clubs here can make that a slightly easier proposition than it once was. Unhappily, even if you find one that you like, there's no guarantee you'll be able to get hold of it or a similar one.
Good luck to you!

I've seen a number of skilled people that have been able to convert Gold Dollar razors into amazing looking pieces. If you were able to provide one of them with a quality blade to start with then perhaps they'd be ble to come up with something like you're after.

Thanks to Jaycey, I can now illustrate what I'm looking for. It's all aesthetics, I don't know that I'd prefer this kind of razor, but I'd like to have one that looks like this.
THIS! Only in a 6/8 or 7/8

This doesn't have the smiling blade, but it's a shoulderless French point. I've been tempted by it more than once. The Wackers can sometimes be a little harder to get dialed in, not always, but once they are, they're outstanding shavers. Good Luck!! 6/8 Wacker "CHEVALIER" Oblique (French) Point - dark horn : Shaving Shop - luxury classic wet shaving products - straight razors

Just came back from the Revisor and 0013. Sure looks nice to me. I love this page. It just keeps costing me money.
