WHen you get than Smiling JR honed up, you'll LOVE IT!
I've got a set in ivory and box not near as nice as yours that are two of my favorite razors to shave with.

I found this when I searched Van Benschoten Hardware Co. the name on the Faultless, it is from the Rhinebeck, NY Gazette dated August 26, 1954.
Does anybody know or think that my Faultless and this http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...im-reaper.html razor were made by the same manufacturer? They have the same ornamental design on the tang?
I' dd leave it pointy. If you don't feel comfortable shaving with it, you can use the Dovo you got or the JR and soon you'll feel comfortable with any razor.
It wouldn't be unusual for one manufacturer to have different brands of razors that can look similar, for example ERN has at least 5 or 6 different brands. Also lots of blades were made like blanks in one factory and then stamped later, the stamp could represent the manufacturer or just the supplier..
If I fall head over heels for wet shaving I will have the JR & S sent off to be cleaned and honed right now it is Florida with my father. I think the Dovo should take a week or two to get here and then the Faultless may come around the same time. I wonder which razor will be my first the Faultless or the Dovo?
