Vintage razors from my grandfather
I have RAD and I have not even started wet shaving yet, that can not be good right? Anyway I am a relatively new member and I have yet to get any gear and start to wet shave yet. I started this thread http://straightrazorpalace.com/membe...t-shaving.html in the Beginners forum, Member Introductions sub-forum with photos of one of these but that thread did not get much attention in that forum.
My father and grandfather both Barbers Pops cutting 46 years now and Poppy 63 years of barbering at his passing, so when I decided to start wet shaving I asked my dad to look for any SR's he had lying around. So far he has found two razors and two barber hones, Razor 1 is a FAULTLESS, and Razor 2 is a Joseph Rodgers & Sons, please see pictures below. My plan is to order a wet shaving SR kit from SRD with a round point DOVO Astrale to learn with and then to use the FAULTLESS when it is finished being restored by gssixgun. I don't plan to do anything with the JR&S razor at this time, I want to get back to the US first.
Please check out these junky cellular phone camera photos, and please share any knowledge that you all have on either of these razors. I would also appreciate any input on getting the starter kit with the DOVO Astrale, I have not purchased yet but I plan to soon.
Lastly can someone tell me how to make the hyperlink above go away and be replaced with a word that is a link?

On the tang it says "Made in Germany for Van Benschoten Hardware Co."

The JR&S seems to be a smile shape is that going to be a problem for me in the future?
Once again Aloha SRP and I am glad to be here!
Re: Vintage razors from my grandfather
I never had any problems shaving with a smile. They shave a bit easier for me actually.
Both nice blades and being heirlooms, they're priceless! That Rogers is a honey!
