I have been using a Torrey razor for about two months now. It's my only shave ready razor right now. I have a few more that need to be honed but I like the Torrey. When I got it it was kind of tarnished up with a few black rust spots on it. After some real fine steelwool and then 3 grades of rubbing compound then some polishing compound I got it looking almost new. Now every time I shave with it I coat it with mineral oil and put it back in its box. Now there is some black tarnish on the tang where it touches the scales it almost looks like the scales are staining the blade. could the oil cause the scales to melt or bleed on to the blade? It dose not come off easy I have to brake out the compound and it still didn't all come off. What could cause this and what can I do to prevent it.
