smiling or straight edge?
I was wondering why major manufactures like Dovo and Boker etc. don't make razors with slight smiles. Is it just cost of manufacturing?
I only have 2 razors with slight smiles but I really enjoy using them. I seem to get better shaves from them, especially around my neck area. So which style do you prefer, slight smile or straight?

Thanked: 13249There are quite a few new razors that have the ability to smile...
You have to hone toward a smile... Jimmy will most likely link the old barbers manual and their directions to get you there.. You can aslo look at Spazola's, Philadelph's and My vids on how to hone a smiling blade, as those techniques can also push the edge in the right direction also...

Confuscious say "Man with happy blade have happy shave."
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

One thing that saddens me is when a razor, which started life with a smile, has been honed straight - it just looks odd
Hang on and enjoy the ride...
