In North Jersey, twenty some years ago, an old barber told me that when it was winter, cold in the shop, if you weren't careful placing your bone or ivory scaled razor on the marble shelf under the mirrors (at his station) you could easily crack the scale at the pin. :shrug:
I agree with the article that the weather will affect the temper of the barber.

Very cool little article Martin. I realy like the connection between the writing and things we see on our razors! Mentioned were Tonsorial as well as 'barbers' pet' which aren't uncommon stamps on razors!
