Thanked: 0Value of a straight razor
I recently purchased 3 straight razors over the counter and I was wondering if they are worth more if they come with what appears to be an original carrying box or not.
Also, can/should I clean the blades, and if so,what should be used ?
Thanks

We dont put values to razors here. But whats worth is what the market will bare. I like to get a orginal box with the razors i buy if i can. As for cleaning up a razor you can look in the libaray at the top of the page. But your better off to leave it to someone who has experiece in doing so.
Those razors will make good shavers you should get them honed up and give it a try.
And Welcome to SRP

Valuations are not done here at SRP sir, worth or value is speculative from one person to another. You could try looking online to see what similar razors have sold for comparison.
What you may get from members is information with regards to the history of your razors.
Your first razor looks to need only a little work, the Wade & Butcher on the other hand will need considerably more.Aloha,

Clean 'em with 80 grit sandpaper and resell them immediately.

i have over 300 boxes just in case someone wants the box. as to cleaning them, in my opinion do not touch them if you are collecting them, if wanting to shave with it, send to one of the pro's here that can do the very time consuming and material expensive process to make it look and perform like new. remember a great razor is not cheap but a cheap razor can cut your face off!!!
