Since I shave with straight, my quest is the Fila 14 EPBD, dunno if it's the better one but it's the one I love for it's look
Definitely the Wade and Butcher 6/8 "The Celebrated Hollow Ground Razor" with barber's notch I just got. Shaves like a dream!
Lol it's all thanks to u and the palmera u sold me I got palmera fever.
Guess its only right to add a picture since it is tied as my favorite shaver. Lol Attachment 127208

I would have to stick with my Les Croix 6/8 hollow grind. It's smooth, cuts through the whiskers like butter, and I've managed to regularly shave without nicking myself now.
Although I'm looking eagerly into getting a Le Grelot... :)
Not trying to be insulting so sorry if it came across that way, just trying to point out that a shavette is just that, and IMO doesn't really meet the pedigree of an actual straight razor. Of course YMMV, that's to be expected. ;-)
Just to give a parallel example, if this were a muscle car forum and the question was if you could only have 1...... And guys were answering 71 cuda, 69 chevelle, 68 charger and then you say 94 Taurus you may get a similar response. And yes this analogy is relevant!
I too guess I must apologize for making such inflammatory statements. To each his own. However, it has been my experience that shavettes are very unforgiving compared to a straight with a good edge put on it... I take various straights of mine with me to my barber and he uses them around my neck and ears and cannot believe how sharp and smooth the edges are. Sorry again, and didn't mean to steer so far off topic.
I am currently waiting for my great grandfather's, who was a barber, straight razor which has been restored by Mike Mason, so if it shaves as expected that would be the one.
