My wife got a custom for me a while back. Honestly, since I started using it, no other razor seems to matter much. I like the others, but day after day I keep selecting the same razor to use.
Sorry, no one razor. Maybe 20 I could pick.
I already have it. It is a Japanese Western called a Seikirazor that my grandmother gave me from her rummage sale days.
The Dovo Bismarck in faux mother of pearl scales...it just looks so elegant and classy
If I could have just one, probably a Filarmonica EPBD.
I don't know if it exists, but an 8/8 Robeson bellied hollow. I know they made 8/8's and bellied hollows, but don't know if they made them together. A guy can dream though. :)
My 23/8 Powell Custom. It's hard to shave with, but if someone breaks into the shave den, they're dead meat!
That is really tough one, if I had to choose it would be Iwasaki Western. But really would like to keep all that are in the collection now.
If could only have one it would be my 1 Tim Zowada, my 1, Robert Williams, my 1 Brian Brown, my 1 Mastro Livi and last but not Least 1 of my 7 Hart Steels. So it would have to be one of each and one of each of the other custom razor makers that I don't have.
Since I'm still all begeistert by the shave with the Tosho i have to choose that one, it's a beauty!
I will keep buying until I find "the one". Came close a few times, but to be honest if I was shaved by someone else blindfolded and earmuffed with any of my razors I wouldnt be able to tell the difference. Ymmv.
Eric.
Impossible, you can never have jut one razor. Though I love my H. Diamond 8000. Though I think I may just like my W&B 9/8 hollow more.. Idk. Maybe a W&B ottoman Egyptian and royal Windsor?
Here's some razor porn from my collection for your enjoyment. :-)

I would keep a Tadashi razor, even if I never used one.
My Modded AU $ :)

Hmmm. I think I just want one thats always sharp and clean. Maybe I'll just have GSsixguns!
Actually if I had to part it down to one, it would be my first one. J A Henckels that was my great-grandfathers.
My beloved Puma Special 88, in 6/8.Attachment 126965
As others have said, definitely a tough choice. All stay in the drawer for a reason and won't be sold...lol. But if to choose only one, would have to be my Max Sprecher Custom as it was made just for me just the way I wanted it :) That is till I get the next one ;)
I have a ton of beauties I've not yet shaved with. Seeing as I don't have a Filly EPBD or Puma Gold 6/8", for now it will have to be my Pavageau French tailless, 13/16" quarter hollow. Super old but the steel feels and performs superbly.

6/8 TI or a 6/8 JR torrey near wedge.
For me CV HELJESTRAND MK 32 is enough.
If I could have only one razor, I'd throw a hissy fit and quit the game.
If I could add any one more to my collection, it would be one of those 10/8 Joseph Rodgers. Jimmy knows what I'm talking about.
Does this count as "one"? They are all the same. "It" would definitely be my choice. :bow

As far as custom razors are concerned, I like this Max Sprecher custom. For vintage razors, I like a well sharpened TORREY or REVISOR or PUMA.

Based on the razors I've owned so far, I think my choice would be a Feather Artist Club. Love the long tail for two fingers, jimps, textured tang sides, good weight, smooth opening, and very sharp shortish (50mm) blades. If I could design a custom razor just the way I want, it'd probably be pretty similar to the Feather (I'd like some top jimping though...). Only problem is that it uses disposable blades.
Second choice...mayyybe my Iwasaki? It's hard to say.
I actually just got in a feather rg (Japanese style) in yesterday and the shave was ok at best. Did not feel anywhere near as comfy or forgiving as my straight. And I would have to say I actually like the way the shave was from a cobra classic then the feather rg(uses same type of blades). I'll def keep it around though when I need a lining on my neck, lol wouldn't want to use any of my straights for that ;)
But if I had to chose one blade it be my palmera 14 8/8 +
Been about the best shaver I've ever tried, including my de razors.
:trollspray:
Forgot to add a picture of the blade, my one razor I'll never part with :) Attachment 127207
