I have already 'admired this masterpiece, I can only continue to wonder waiting for you to try it with some good soap. I find it amazing the ability 'that Mastro Livi to experiment new steels and new techniques. Whenever wonder how simplicity 'is able to create new and different razors. Immense talent!!
Can you believe what Mastro Livi succeed in doing? He has been successful in assembling stainless steel with carbon steel!!! As far as I can tell, this is something very difficult to do and, so far, I have only seen another great Master being successful in doing the very same: Master Camillo Silvano. I once saw a knife he made and for that he used a stainless steel-carbon steel San Mai Damascus he made. Not to mention, it was a stunning knife. After all, it is not anything new Master Camillo Silvano is a very talented artisan, one of the very best we have in Italy about this art.
I am sure the next time you will be visiting Mastro Livi, you will be speechless to see his stainless steel Damascus! Not to mention the razors he is making with it. Immense talent, real Italian proud!
What a shave! I knew I like this Mastro Livi stainless steel, the very same used for Grifetto, and this artisan made straight razor is just spectacular. Simply confirming the excellent quality of this stainless steel, particularly selected for Grifetto, it is the former "sperimental inox" Mastro Livi used for some of his razors before starting the production of his Grifetto. I have been the very first one to test this stainless steel and it has been love at first sight. That's why I wanted a totally hand made straight razor made from this steel. I absolutely love my new Grifone razor, as well as Mastro Livi Grifetto!
An impeccable shaving soap and a superlative straight razor for a perfect Italian shave. Boellis Panama 1924 is the closest soap to the glorious P.160, having the very same ingredients, producing an excellent and superior result. Mastro Livi Grifone finds in this extraordinary shaving soap an incredible mate for a superlative shaving. Boellis Panama 1924 and Mastro Livi Grifone: what a couple!
