Thanked: 13249Safe Shipping Ideas for Kamisori and Non-Folding razors
So I was doing some honing and thought that perhaps taking a few pics of how I pack up Kamisori style razors might help save a few edges..
First I cut out a piece of cardboard that fits the razor, and a heavy bond piece of note paper
I cut the paper to just oversize to the edge and blade when folded
I use Blue Painters tape because it removes with no residue, I fold the heavy paper so that the edge is actually not touching the folded paper it is suspended inside because of the tape along the spine
Finally I tape the entire setup to the cardboard which is then wrapped in bubble wrap and tucked into a box to keep it from shifting around
Note that I try and never let tape touch the blade or near the edge, if you wrap the razor first then tape, or like some of you guys do, use rubber bands, it is way easier on any style razor especially during the hot months..
Just some ways I have found that have worked, maybe they will give you some good ideas which please feel free to share here..

How about thin PVC pipe, really cheap, cut your length, put the blade in the pipe surrounded by bubble wrap, edge covered with your heavy paper, cap the ends.

Nice post Glen. I also use it anytime I ship a razor since lowlifes rap an envelope to dislodge any object through the envelope end. Person gets envelope nothing in it. Been had that way!
A straight razor, well cushioned in a toothbrush tube is a nice way to keep them from being bent also. I prefer to put the whole thing in a flat rate box, not envelope. Whether that is a good idea for the Kamisori, I don't think so.

Just whatever you do don't ever write "fragile" on the parcel. if you do it goes to the cage with the Gorilla in it for "special attention".

Thanked: 4249I use a piece of pipe insulation, wrap the razor with paper or bubble wrap slide it inside the pipe insulation, cut two pieces for each end, wrapped with box tape. A 6 foot piece of pipe insulation cost about one dollar.
