Well,i just looked at it under 30xs loupe and you can see grain in the tang, but not the scales. So I dont think it is the same material.I am going to try the pin test and see how it goes. Thanks for the help fellows!

Just make sure you do it in a place that is not going to be that noticeable
Just finished pin test, and no nothing so i guess it is ivory. That would raise the value, rite? It has a small chip on the edge towards the heel.I am new to straight razor honing.I was going to try and remove the chip with three layers of tape on dmt 325,then removing one layer at a time till it is gone.Or should i just use my norton 4k with one layer of tape? Thanks again
I hate to polish my honing skills on this razor, but i would like to get it shave ready, and give it a true test. Not sure what to do.
Told Ya. It helps that the scales and razor is in pretty good shape. you get her honed up I would keep it. bokers are a great shave
Yea, know what you mean by not really wanting to polish honing skills on such a nice razor. Your razor your call but I would think on it a bit.
