Thanked: 3John Primble help with opinion and info on razor
So as none of you know I like trying to restore old razors. it was part of the allure of straight razors. I have this John Primble razor that I have begun to restore. I accidentally slipped and broke the scales and unfortunately I'll need custom scales. I was just wondering is anyone knows anything about this razor and if they think it is worth finishing. I googled the Maker an d found a bit of info on them. I don't know the measurements but I'd guess 4/8 as it fits inside my dovo 5/8.

The owner of John Primble trademark was W.B. Belknap Hardware. They used John Primble India Steel Works trademark since about 1890.
But razors for them were made by H.Boker & Co.
Belknap Hardware also used trademarks: Blue Glass, Crusader, Pine Knot, Blue Ribbon.

Thanks for the info Alex. I didn't know that Boker made the Primble razors. I've never had one of them but I have had some of their old pocket knives. Amongst pocket knife collectors they are a very highly thought of and collectible brand. I assume the razors are of like quality.
