J A Henkels project
Help Me, i can't stop myself!!
This is my second project razor in a week and I'm sure i don't know what i'm doing, or getting myself into.Picked this one up at a flea market because it was dirt cheap and i recognized the name. Thinking I can make a shorter razor out of it.(Let me know of the correct term if there is one). there isn't much rust on what's left of the blade and the edge doesn't have any bad nicks on it. there is about 2 5/16 inch of good cutting edge left. the scales are a little bent but i think I can save them for another project. What would you experts do? thanks for your help!

That thing has a shortened blade as finished out properly. Looks a 4/8. The scales are bakelite. Not much there.
Thing is, you could, with the skills and tools, shorten the blade, cut the scales down to fit, clean, polish, pin, and hone.
It would be a cool little razor and shave the dickens. It might be better to work on it to learn skills and gain experience.
As far as a project goes, I feel that is the best way it can serve you. JMO"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Thanks, What's the best way to cut down a blade? Did (or does) anybody make shorter length razors? i'd like to see some pictures for ideas.
