Thread: My First SR. Need some help with the history.

On Thursday I was making the rounds to some of my local pawn shops. I saw this in the display case.



It had a $20 tag on it, and I almost pooped because I thought I was about to get a Dovo for $20. So I ask to see the straight razor, and I realized it was just a Dovo box. I hadn't heard of George Ibberson & Co, but I knew that blades out of Sheffield would be a good find. I asked the guy behind the counter if there were any more razors somewhere else because the box didn't match the blade. He said they had been sold. I tried to talk the guy down, but he wouldn't budge on the price. When he wouldn't budge I thought about walking, but I couldn't let this one get away. SRs in even poor shape are going for $40 on the Bay so I had to get it.
Part of the reason I am getting into wet shaving is I enjoy the history of well made products.

Which brings me here to SRP. I can't seem to find a thing online about my new razor. Not a pic and not a date of production. I know that GI&C make great pocket knives and have for centuries. So any info, links, or hearsay would be appreciated.
