Yes and no. The feather is a very sturdy and expensive disposable straight, where as the Shavette is a much less expensive. Again, never having used or much less seen one in person, I couldn't say,...

I've never used a shavette, so not sure. I would imagine that it would work fine, as they are used for shaving by lots of folks. I do own a Feather and it works well and would do the job very well....
