Razor is at least 100 years old. it may be that is the case but edge wasn't in bad shape except wasn't touching the hone . Almost 1/16 off the surface may be more.

Old blade
Recently i got a wedge blade and i am sure it has been sharpened by some machine?
has anyone had similar problems?
why i think so.when you put the blade flat to the hone(hone is lapped) back of...
