I like the finish it leaves better than my xxc 8" plate, scratches are more uniform. Could be from it being a little flatter and the larger size. Makes lapping effortless.

I can tell you that the same grit in the 8" DMT (120grit) feels and performs different.

I use mine for mostly lower grit stones.(nothing past 4k level) On fine stones that need more than maintanence work it is also useful but I follow up with another water stone to calm down surface.
