You might want to put some tape over the etching or at least be very, very careful around it. Most of those products, including Maas, Simichrome, etc, will remove the etching.

If the blade isn't too badly tarnished, you can get by without the Dremel. Any good metal polish will work. Maas, Simichrome, Flitz and others are available at places like Wal-Mart or by mail...
