Yep its a loupe with a light that goes to 100x magnification.

mine leaves an edge that feels like an 8k edge. It is no where near an Escher imho. It leaves a smooth shave but the cutting sensation isnt as effortless.

Today I found an old Torrey razor and decided to hone it.

Dmt1200 for initial bevel
Then the chosera 1k
Then Sham's natural 3-4k stone
Then my beloved tam o' Shanter dual stone with slurry...

Touch up on two razors.

I tried this too and went from Chosera 1K right to a 8X3 coticule with water only. did 100 passes on the coticule and the shave was great.
Go figure!
I guess I don't need slurry after...
