The higher you leave off,the better the escher is imo. If you go coticule to escher you will love it. But if you go prepolisher jnat or a shapton 16k to escher you may see its even better. Try it out...

Either way it'll be an awesome stone. You need to learn how to use it, your blade needs to be at maximum sharpness to get the great effect of an Escher finisher.
