The Coticules with glued BBW backing are old. They still make Natural bbw/coticule combination stones since the BBW is used for honing now. All the glued ones are to slate.

Its BBW/coticule combination stone. Some people use the BBW side for honing, in the old days they didn't use it which is why it was used for glued backing. I don't like the BBW sides of the stones...
