Thanks to all for the kind comments. It'll be a long time before I can hope to match up to some of the work that gets shown on this forum but I'm sure it'll be fun trying.

Thanks Nenad - yeah, I used Vlad's method of oil then superglue. If anyone's interested, I found 180 grit sandpaper best to remove the glue I managed to get over my fingers. Stop when you bleed;)

I managed to get myself an old W&B which had seen better days (Ebay Item number: 6639116687) and using Vlad's excellent scale blank kit with Kingwood and the equally excellent advice and tips on this...
