I am in the same boat. I have a TI that time and again is dulled by my Nakayama. It is one of those idiosyncrasies of honing.

I never use naguras on my Nakayama. I cannot see the point. When I come off any polishing hone 8-10 K and do 50 roundtrips on the Nakayama that is all I need. YMMV especially as no 2 Nakayamas are...
