Enjoy reading and learning from all of the above, but will also note that in the time I spent doing so, I could have refreshed a handful of razors on a barber's hone or naniwa 12k. :)

I guess I don't understand the point of trying to delay touch ups or testing how long one can go without one. Running a razor 4-5 times across a barber hone is no big deal. . Takes about 2 minutes. ...
