Thanks for clearing that up. The only issue I've had with Sandpaper was too much pressure, and only with a Swaty. Since then I use a lot less pressure. Good to know that hones don't cross...

I go up to 1200 paper but yeah. Your thinking is correct. I guess I would lap the 1k on a flat surface with sandpaper, and maybe finish lapping the 4k/8k on the 1k, but I would still be cautious.
