AHA! got it solved...I was using WAY to much pressure when using the 4/8K. I used a much lighter touch and now the razor shaves like a dream.

I got pretty lucky, with some asking around, I managed to get a hold of a 1.2k diamond stone. Seems to do the job.

Now the razor is freaking sharp, but I still can't seem to get a hair to pop on...

I figured I would start at really low grits as I had just breadknifed the edge. I am guessing that it would take an eternity to set a bevel on a 4k stone.
