I agree with ezpz, if this Coticule absorbs water...
I agree with ezpz, if this Coticule absorbs water it's most likely a synthetic. You can find out by comparing the dark side of your stone with pictures of BBWs which have a very distinct pattern.

Could be, I may have cheated with the S from Escher. They put JGES on their miniature cars. I may have seen JGES or JGESS on a Thuringian but I forgot to save a picture.

J.G. Escher & Sohn. I have a small stash of these little boxed Thuringians and they've come in different coloured boxes, with different clasps and hinges. Look them up and you'll see some of them...

It has a similar text which can be seen on some of the 5x1" boxed Thuringians/Eschers, it's made in Germany and it has an Escher logo if I'm not mistaken.
