OK, well here is the workaround I have come up with.

If I right click on the "thanks" button and select "open in new tab", the new tab opens with the selected post thanked.

Weird, but it works....

Well, colour me stoopid. Now it works. To whomever or whatever out there, many thanks!! (Dave, was that you?)

Seriously, I click the button, the button disappears as though I have thanked the post, but no thanks shows up from me under the post in question.

I am unable to give anyone thanks with the thanks button. Is this just me, or are others experiencing thanking difficulties too?
