Just found out my 2 razors (inc. this one) were my great grandfather's razors on my mother's side. (He was born late 19th C in Ballarat Australia, died in 1968).

Good idea - when I invest in some proper honing stones I'll have a go.
The worst (I'd hope) is that I'll get a bit of razor burn or a nick, when I shave with it.

Looks like the main option is to shorten the blade - which means removing an inch from the toe.
I think I'll clean the blade up and oil it, then put it aside until the restoring... -

Crack in blade - restorable??
I've got a Cadman & Sons Bengali with a crack in the blade.
It's a thin crack, almost 6mm long (?1/4 inch). This is visible on both sides of the blade. The crack is located about an inch away...
