This is true. I still reckon it would take alot of skill to cut the ivory in exactly the same shape as the ebony/horn, only to a smaller scale to be inlayed; then even more skill to chip/router out...

Thats definately ivory, 100%. Do not shorten the blade. Have it rescaled in ebony or dark horn and use the ivory as circular inlays like a Mastro Livi. It would look awesome and its not hard to do.
